Crop Insurance Adjuster

Location: Remote-CA | Employment Type: Full Time | Reports To: Joe Kemph | Job Requisition ID: 2026-710

Role Overview

ProAg offers an exciting opportunity for a Crop Adjuster in the Sacramento Valley. Our team shares a passion for American agriculture and understands the challenges producers face. As a Crop Adjuster, you will make first contact with policyholders on farms or ranches that have experienced a loss. You will work with customers to complete field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, measure fields and storage bins, and collect production recordsโ€”all while assessing damage or loss. You will be responsible for each claim until it is settled, traveling up to 75% of the time and covering the Sacramento Valley territory from home.

Responsibilities
  • Perform factโ€‘finding to determine cause(s) and percentage of loss, exercising independent judgment in claim handling.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Area Claims Supervisor.
  • Convey regulations and procedures to claimants, agents, and industry stakeholders.
  • Communicate ProAgโ€™s positions on evolving industry topics such as new specialty crops or coverage programs.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of RMA rules, regulations, and ProAg procedures for all MPCI, Crop Hail, and Federal Crop Insurance regulations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Crop insurance experience in claims or compliance, or other agโ€‘related background.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer and internet applications proficiency.
  • Communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
  • Completion of Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification and/or any applicable state licenses is preferred.

Pay Range

$43,000 โ€“ $100,000 annually, inclusive of geographic adjustments. Salary will be within this range based on location, qualifications, experience, education, and skill level.
