Job description

This is a Part-Time position working 24-29 hours a week Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work is required for outreach events and community engagement activities.
Community Relations Officer
Position Overview
The Community Relations Officer serves as the primary community ambassador for Women's Centers of Ohio by developing strategic relationships, increasing community awareness, and expanding referral partnerships throughout the Sidney, Dayton, and Cincinnati regions.
This position is responsible for representing Women's Centers of Ohio in the community, building meaningful relationships with healthcare providers, schools, churches, social service agencies, businesses, and community organizations that serve women and families. Through strategic outreach and community engagement, the Community Relations Officer helps increase awareness of Women's Centers of Ohio's life-affirming services and connects abortion-minded and vulnerable women to the care and resources available through Elizabeth's New Life Center.
Working collaboratively with the Director of Marketing amp; Communications, Women's Center leadership, and the Marketing amp; Communications team, this position helps strengthen the organization's community presence while advancing referral growth and supporting organizational marketing initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Relationship Development
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare providers, schools, churches, community organizations, social service agencies, businesses, and other referral partners throughout the assigned region.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that expand awareness of Women's Centers of Ohio and increase client referrals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Women's Centers of Ohio and community organizations within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with referral partners to strengthen long-term relationships.
Community Outreach
  • Represent Women's Centers of Ohio at community events, health fairs, networking events, conferences, educational programs, and public speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate community presentations, center tours, informational meetings, and outreach opportunities that promote Women's Centers of Ohio services.
  • Develop strategies that increase organizational visibility throughout the communities served.
  • Seek opportunities to educate community partners about available services and referral processes.
Referral Development
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies that increase referrals of abortion-minded and vulnerable women to Women's Centers of Ohio.
  • Track referral sources and identify opportunities to strengthen referral partnerships.
  • Monitor outreach effectiveness and recommend improvements that support organizational growth.
Marketing amp; Communications Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the Marketing amp; Communications Department to support outreach campaigns, community events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure all community presentations, outreach materials, and public communications accurately reflect approved organizational messaging and brand standards.
  • Provide community updates, success stories, partnership highlights, event information, and referral opportunities that support marketing, fundraising, newsletters, annual reports, and other organizational communications.
  • Coordinate with the Multimedia Content Creator to identify outreach opportunities, community events, and partnership activities that should be documented through photography, video, or storytelling.
Reporting amp; Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referral partnerships, presentations, and community engagement efforts using organizational software.
  • Prepare monthly outreach reports summarizing relationship development, referral activity, community engagement, and progress toward established goals.
  • Assist in developing annual outreach objectives and community engagement strategies.
  • Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrates resilience and persistence by consistently cultivating relationships over time, recognizing that meaningful community partnerships are built through trust, consistency, and long-term engagement.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in community relations, outreach, business development, public relations, nonprofit engagement, sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM or outreach management software preferred.
  • Personal commitment to the mission and values of Elizabeth's New Life Center.
Travel Requirements
  • Regular travel throughout the Sidney, Dayton, and Cincinnati service areas is required.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance with at least $100,000 liability limits are required.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided according to organizational policy.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required for outreach events and community engagement activities.
