Chief Building Engineer (Data Center Manager)

Bill Rate: 60-68 Hours: M-F 8am - 5pm, but may have some additional hours outside of regular hours to assist Location: 700 College Road E, Princeton NJ

Overview of Work Environment/Client Nuances: Candidate will be working in a 180,000 sq. ft data center, 7.5 mega watts. This is a client facing role. Team Overview: Candidate may have people reporting to them. Resource's typical working day: Check in daily with on site teams Reviewing Client alarms and logs Daily walkthroughs and solutioning for problems Working with client to give updates on activities that happen

Licenses/Certifications

EPA 608 or Universal license not required but highly preferred Any Safety or OSHA certifications highly preferred

Must Have Skills

  • Heavy data center experience

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience managing, building teams and successfully maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in a Data Center environment.
  • 5+ years experience managing mechanical and electrical project work in a data center environment.
  • 3+ years managing a team of 5 or more employees.
  • Experience completing and documenting data center installation standards and project tracking/management.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents, blueprints and facilities plans.
  • Knowledge of all applicable rules, laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances in performing data/communications and MEP projects.
  • Experience with cost estimation and cost tracking of data center installations.
  • Experience processing and tracking of purchase order requests and invoice tracking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • EPA Certification
  • Any Critical Facilities license
  • Any Safety or OSHA Certification or Licensure
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician License

About the Role

As a Chief Building Engineer, you will perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repairs of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Lead operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors. Arranges for subcontractors as needed.
