As a Critical Facilities Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our operations running reliably and safely.
About the Role
As a Critical Facilities Engineer, you will help maintain and operate the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems that support our data center environment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, support infrastructure projects, and work alongside experienced technicians and vendors to ensure facility uptime and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on facilities, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or critical environment experience who enjoys problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Facility Maintenance & Operations
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and infrastructure systems
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems
Monitor building systems and respond to alarms and operational issues
Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential issues before they impact operations
Assist with the operation of critical infrastructure under established procedures and guidance
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Support contractors and service providers performing maintenance and repair work
Participate in work planning, safety briefings, and project reviews
Ensure vendors follow site safety requirements and operational procedures
Maintain accurate equipment documentation and technical records
Incident Response & Site Support
Respond to facility incidents, equipment failures, and service interruptions
Assist in identifying and mitigating infrastructure risks and single points of failure
Complete maintenance documentation, permits, and operational logs
Follow established procedures to support safe and reliable operations
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Complete work orders and support infrastructure installations
Assist with facility upgrades and improvement projects
Recommend opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance
Support inventory management of critical spare parts and equipment
Teamwork & Collaboration
Partner with facility team members to resolve technical issues
Collaborate across departments to support operational goals
Share knowledge and support team development
Contribute to a culture focused on safety, reliability, and customer service
