Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory (CRSV) is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for students of all faiths who cannot otherwise afford a private education. CRSV nurtures and challenges young women and men to recognize and realize their full potential as they grow to love God, respect others, and serve their community. Each student participates in the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), which offers a weekly work-study experience for all four years.

By providing students with an extraordinary college preparatory education and a unique four-year, integrated corporate work study experience, we seek to transform urban America one student at a time.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking to employ a coach who possesses advanced organization and communication skills.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and hold tryouts to develop a team
  • Begin to train students throughout the preseason process
  • Prepare well-planned practices designed for player development and game preparation
  • Attend all games and guide the team throughout the matchups
  • Coordinate transportation to games with the Athletic Director and Transportation Coordinator
  • Assigns athletes to specific positions and develops drills and organized game strategies
  • Ensure familiarity with and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA)
  • Report all injuries to the Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer and follow the procedures for reporting injuries
  • Communicate the team's values to athletes and if applicable, other coaches and be a role model for those values
  • Hold athletes accountable for attendance and team values
  • Utilize positive coaching practice
  • Emphasize the importance of teamwork, communication, and a healthy competitive environment that reinforces school values
  • Coaches must understand that they represent Cristo Rey St. Viator at competitions and in interactions with parents and other schools


Requirements

  • Experience in coaching high school sports; minimum of 1 year of coaching in the sport you are applying for
  • Experience in your sport at any level
  • Ability to emphasize improvement and growth goals alongside competitive goals
  • The ability to coordinate schedules and work with the Athletic Director and other coaches, if applicable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive in completing tasks/responsibilities
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified
  • Certified in NIAA/NFHS required coaching education courses

The compensation is in the form of a stipend to be determined.
