Salary: $75,083 - $100,951 (Salary commensurate with rank.)

Why You'll Do: 

Teach approved power line worker curriculum through engaging classroom, laboratory, and field-based instruction.
Demonstrate and reinforce safe practices, equipment operation, housekeeping, material storage, and applicable industry requirements.
Prepare course syllabi, lessons, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with approved curriculum and learning outcomes.
Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate attendance and grade records, and submit required reports on time.
Provide timely academic support, tutoring, advising, and mentoring to help students succeed.
Connect students with employment, certification, apprenticeship, and continuing-education opportunities.
Build relationships with employers and industry partners to support student placement and workforce-training opportunities.
Participate in recruitment, registration, retention, advisory committee meetings, graduation, open houses, professional development, and college activities.
Use instructional technology and varied teaching methods to support students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Contribute to program assessment, curriculum improvement, college committees, and department initiatives.
Uphold College policies, accreditation standards, legal requirements, and a professional, respectful campus culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

Completion of a journeyman-level power lineman technician or equivalent on-the-job training program; or
At least five years of professional experience at or above the highest level of skill being taught.
Demonstrated ability to provide classroom instruction and practical field training that prepare students for entry-level power line worker employment.
Strong instructional, communication, organizational, computer, and classroom-management skills.
Student-centered approach and commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required Certifications: 

The successful candidate must obtain and maintain the following certifications within 90 days of hire:

NCCER Craft Instructor certification in Power Lineman.
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification.
CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Teaching, workforce-training, apprenticeship, or mentoring experience in power linework.
Experience teaching at the college or high-school level.
Experience using learning-management systems and instructional technology.
Current industry certifications beyond the minimum requirements.
