JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center (PRC) seeks part-time communications interns to assist us in highlighting the important work the Center is doing to improve the lives of children, youth, and families. The PRC is an international thought leader in prevention science research, training, and outreach. Our research examines how families, schools, community groups, and industry can work together to promote healthy lifestyles.
Our communications interns are a vital part of the Center's communications core, supporting center faculty and communications staff with branding and communications initiatives. We work with our interns to build a strong portfolio to prepare them for future career opportunities.
We seek interns with skills applicable to some or all of these areas:
Research writing: writing news briefs and newsletter articles, geared mostly toward the scientific community
Social media: creating compelling social media posts for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Analytics: producing regular analytics reports summarizing key performance indicators for our website, social media channels and electronic newsletter
Video production: staff profiles, social media posts
This position requires excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others. Also a plus: experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or newswriting.
Work location: remote or hybrid (located in Biobehavioral Health Building, University Park campus)
