Job description

Position Summary: The Part-Time Laboratory Technician supports Client's Microbiology Laboratory, which services 20+ internal food
manufacturing facilities across North America. This role assists with general laboratory operations, ensuring
compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.
Job Responsibilities: • Assist with routine laboratory support tasks.
• Prepare media, reagents, and solutions for a variety of microbiological tests.
• Unloading and reloading autoclaves as needed.
• Restocking supplies, bringing up pallets from the dock, and organizing materials in the storage room.
• Handling laboratory waste and garbage removal, including taking waste to the compactor.
• Performing regular cleaning duties (floors, weekly cleaning, quarterly bleaching).
• Washing dishes and glassware for platers.
• Making agar and performing temperature and scale checks.
• Checking in media in LabWare and ensuring proper documentation.
• Bringing up mail from the front office.
• Maintain awareness and adhere to all applicable FDA, GMP, USP, Biosafety, OSHA and employer
standards and guidelines.
• Follow laboratory standards and maintain compliance with ISO 17025:2017 as applicable.
Job Requirements: • Preferred: 1+ years of work experience in a Quality Laboratory.
• Attendance and punctuality are required.
• Committed to working the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn new responsibilities.
• Capable of working individually and with a team.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
