Job Description:
Apex is seeking a Lab Analyst (Waste Water) to join a company in the Richmond, VA area.
The main responsibilities for this role would include:
Supporting laboratory workflows.
Managing and driving wastewater surveillance projects.
Assisting with validation efforts.
Coordinating project objectives from initiation through completion with technical oversight from the leadership team.
Candidates must have:
Experience with the theory and application of chemical, microbiological and molecular principles.
Experience with laboratory safety practices
Experience with laboratory instrumentation and mechanical equipment.
Experience with quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC) procedures and interpret QC data/results.
Experience communicating effectively both written and orally.
Experience training scientific personnel.
Experience with molecular based methods.
Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Ability to compile and formulate data, draw conclusions and provide data interpretation.
Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other science related major.
Master degree or PhD would also be considered.
Must have experience with PCR.
