Credit Analyst

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Credit Risk Manager

Summary/Objective

The Credit Analyst is responsible for assisting with underwriting new commercial loans and maintaining the health of existing commercial loan portfolio.

Primary Functions

  1. Spreads financial data. Prepares in depth analysis and cash flow shocks based on customer/loan type.
  2. Prepares narrative analysis of findings and identifies trends, strengths and weaknesses and makes recommendations.
  3. Conducts credit investigations as requested using 3rd party and other resources and conducts collateral evaluations and audits as requested.
  4. Assists in managing financial expiring documentation.
  5. Monitors borrowing base and other loan covenants.

Secondary Functions

  1. Participates, with account officers, on customer and prospect calls when necessary.
  2. Assists in special projects as needed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Graduate or GED and either Associates Degree or 2 years of related experience.
  2. Proficiency in computer applications, Word and Excel.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Bachelors Degree or 3 years of related experience.
  2. Knowledge of bank operations and control systems.
