Position Overview
The Human Resources Intern will assist with the Talent Acquisition process, onboarding, the administration of the Intern Program, and various HR projects. The position reports to the Senior Recruiter, with a dotted line to the HR Manager.
Responsibilities
  • The HR Intern will act as a SubCom Ambassador
    • Promote SubCom brand on campus
    • Compile a list of dates and times of campus events, focusing on IT and Engineering clubs
    • Use LinkedIn to promote SubCom attendance at UNH events
    • Attend or assist with Career Fairs
  • Talent Acquisition Support
    • Assist Senior Recruiter with scheduling and coordinating interviews
    • Understanding and creating offer letters under various offer conditions
    • Source and screen candidates for open positions using tools such as LinkedIn and Handshake
    • Promote roles through LinkedIn and local organizations
    • Interact with hiring managers on timely delivery of recruiting activity and updates
  • HR Support
    • Support onboarding of new employees, including assisting with new hire paperwork, assisting with pre-employment screenings, and conducting New Hire Onboarding presentations.
    • Support HR projects and deliverables, such as the creation or updating of Process Documents and Job Aids, administrative support to Non-Manufacturing HR Manager for annual screenings, and other miscellaneous projects.

Qualifications
  • This position requires discretion and sensitivity due to the highly confidential nature of work assignments.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Student must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at The University of New Hampshire.
  • Strong written, oral communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employment and work in multi-cultural environment.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of employment laws, workers compensation, FMLA, FLSA, ADA and EEO a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and credit check.
