Job Summary
The PBG is building its first-line credit risk team to enhance credit risk oversight and activities across multiple-lending products. This role sits at the center of credit risk oversight, translating portfolio data into actionable insights and driving alignment across risk, business, and finance stakeholders. This is not a pure data science or model development role.
The candidate is expected to adapt and take on a variety of tasks but will be primarily focused on supporting ad-hoc reporting requests and helping to design and build automated reporting solutions. The role requires a minimum proficiency in data and reporting combined with a strong understanding of credit risk concepts applicable to private banking lending products such as Securities-based lending, Tailored Lending, Residential Mortgages, and Commercial Real Estate lending.
Success in this role is defined by the ability to use data and tooling to frame risk issues, guide decision-making, collaborate across multiple stakeholders, leverage firm-approved AI tools, and influence outcomes.
Job Description/Position Responsibilities
- Gather, organize and transform complex data to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights and reports to support credit risk decision-making and strategic projects and initiatives.
- Analyze and track portfolio metrics such as originations, limit monitoring, KRIs, loan quality, stressed credits, etc. by running data analytics across multiple databases to enable greater visibility of risk across the organization.
- Support and help drive the oversight, coordination and management of stressed credit exposures across lending products and supporting and managing working group forums and risk committees.
- Track progress on team initiatives, drive continuous improvement and efficiency, maintain documentation, drafting policies and procedures, mapping out processes, building decks and reports for senior management and regulators, etc.
- Partner with stakeholders across multiple legal entities, businesses, financial and non-financial risk organizations, etc. to drive data-driven risk management initiatives.
Additional Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial services with emphasis on portfolio analytics and risk management.
- BA in finance, economics, accounting, business, statistics or math; Advanced degrees / certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) to support insights / reporting.
- Skill using firm-approved AI tools to enhance analysis and productivity within governance frameworks preferred.
- Solid understanding and experience working with databases and snowflake is preferred.
- Experience designing automated reporting pipelines utilizing Python or SQL is preferred.
- Experience translating regulatory and underwriting standards into data-driven controls is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; detail-oriented and effective in fast-paced environments.
- Experience presenting analysis or risk insights to non-technical stakeholders or senior management is strongly preferred.
