Job description

Role Summary/Purpose:

The AVP, Analytics - Health & Wellness Sales is a senior individual contributor responsible for delivering analytics and performance measurement, actionable insights, and root cause analyses to the leaders of four B2B inside and outside sales teams collectively overseeing 200+ employees who support 280,000+ healthcare providers offering Synchrony financing solutions.

Partnering closely with sales enablement and sales leadership, this role drives goal setting and attainment tracking, develops and measures data-driven selling initiatives, and owns the provider performance data mart and the executive dashboards that underpin Health & Wellness sales reporting. This role also provides dotted-line direction and coaching to India-based analytics resources supporting the team. Deliverables receive regular visibility from senior leadership team in Health & Wellness platform, including the divisional CEO, making accurate, timely, and executive-ready insights a requirement of the role.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead performance measurement and support for four B2B sales teams, including goal setting, KPI definitions, and executive dashboards.

  • Partner with Sales Enablement team, sales leaders and others, to design, implement, and measure outcomes of data-driven selling solutions and field initiatives.

  • Identify growth opportunities and answer business questions, develop analytical frameworks and business cases, and present recommendations to leadership.

  • Perform deep-dive analyses, and create executive-ready materials that communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Daily use of SAS and SQL to analyze structured and unstructured data sources that evolve over time, involving significant data staging, hygiene, and consolidation work.

  • Own the provider performance data mart and reporting layer (e.g., datasets, feeds, metric definitions, views), including data quality, troubleshooting, and enhancements.

  • Translate business requirements into clear metrics, reporting, and analytics deliverables; ensure consistent definitions and governance.

  • Drive operational efficiency and standard processes for analytics delivery; coordinate work with offshore analytics support as needed.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional analytics experience with demonstrated business impact; or in lieu of a Bachelors Degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years of analytics experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on programming/data mining using SAS and SQL (building datasets, not only querying).

  • MS Excel

  • Demonstrated experience supporting commercial stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, finance, credit risk, client teams) by synthesizing insights from structured analyses to inform business decisions and communicating with stakeholders in an effective manner

  • Experience leading large, multi-stakeholder analytics initiatives end-to-end (requirements build insights adoption)

  • Strong executive communication skills (ability to influence decisions using data, and present to senior leaders).

  • Experience working with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with analytics in consumer banking/consumer lending environments.

  • Statistics/decision science, predictive analytics, or test-and-learn measurement experience.

  • Familiarity with modern data/analytics tooling on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS ecosystem).

  • Knowledge of consumer lending products and portfolio-level performance concepts.

  • Understanding of B2B sales measurement/forecasting concepts.

  • Hands-on programming/data mining using Python (building datasets, not just querying).

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce UI for reporting and data extracts.

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 115,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
