What You'll Do as a Quality Engineering Intern

Quality Engineering - As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of our efforts to design, develop, and uphold rigorous quality standards for Boeing's products and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams spanning engineering, production, and supply chain to help build and sustain a robust quality conformance system that ensures safe, reliable, and defect-free aerospace products. This role will give you hands-on experience in quality risk assessment, data analysis, quality management system implementation, and continuous improvement-all critical aspects of delivering excellence in aerospace manufacturing.

  • Collaborate across production, and engineering teams to support product quality assurance throughout design, manufacturing, and production systems.
  • Support implementing quality principles, processes, and metrics to reduce defects and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Support quality readiness assessments and product maturity validation through data analysis and risk mitigation planning.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action, and statistical process control.
  • Help develop, review, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assistance in design risk analysis (DFMEA), verification planning, and quality inspections.

Supplier Quality and Performance Management - As a Supplier Quality Intern, you will play a critical role in partnering with our suppliers to ensure that the components and materials we receive meet Boeing's high standards for quality and compliance. You will assist in assessing supplier capabilities, auditing quality systems, validating supplier processes, and supporting corrective action efforts. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders, providing unique insight into how supplier quality impacts Boeing's overall product excellence and production system health.

  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure suppliers meet Boeing quality requirements.
  • Support supplier capability assessments, process validations, and quality system audits.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing sampling plans and First Article Inspections to verify supplier product conformance.
  • Participate in managing corrective actions related to supplier nonconformance and drive supplier quality improvements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to communicate engineering requirements and integrate supplier quality into the production conformance system.
  • Support Supplier Control Audits and supplier performance metric tracking to ensure production health and defect reduction.

Thesepositionsare expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

These positions must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Be currently enrolled in a college or university with expected graduation on or after August 2027.
  • Availability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027
  • Meet Export Control compliance as a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

  • Currently majoring in one of following core engineering/applied sciences disciplines (Aeronautical/Aerospace, Civil (especially Structural emphasis or interest), Chemical, Computer Engineering/Science, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Physics, Software, Structural, Quality, Industrial Engineering Technical, Industrial Management, Operations Research, Engineering Mechanics, and Systems).
  • Strong academic performance (GPA 3.0 or above).
  • Previous internships, work experience, or involvement in student or civic organizations demonstrating leadership and teamwork.
  • Passion for aerospace industry and eagerness to contribute to Boeing's mission.
  • Junior or Senior class standing.
  • Willingness to relocate and work onsite at designated locations.
