Job description

Credit Department Administrative Support

This role supports the Credit department by performing administrative tasks, small-dollar collections, and credit card processing.

Job Duties:

  • Processes credit card and "check by fax" payments
  • Obtains credit applications and processes customer trade references
  • Runs and prints D&B and Credit Safe credit reports
  • Scans credit applications and maintains orderly credit files
  • Maintains customer "Short Pay Tracker" worksheet in Excel
  • Sends statements to customers upon request
  • Updates customer contact information in accounting software system
  • Processes adjustments for small-dollar customer misc. deductions
  • Performs light collections (small balance customers)
  • Processes Bad Debt write-offs quarterly
  • Serves as primary backup to A/R Cash Application Specialist (posting payments to customer accounts)
  • Maintains organized A/R record retention files according to Company guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have organizational skills
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with employees and vendors/ customers
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Willingness to work as a team member or independently
  • Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
