Description:
Security Engineer, Privileged Access Management (Contingent)
Locations: Charlotte, NC; Irving, TX; Chandler, AZ
Type: Contract-to-Hire (extension/conversion possible)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite, flexible)
Overview
We are seeking a Security Engineer to support the stability, performance, and operational health of our Automated Password Reset (APS) platform, built on the Bravura Password Manager solution.
In this role, you will focus on platform engineering, integration support, and operational excellence-not software development. You will help ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance across a critical enterprise credential management system.
What You'll Do
  • Provide technical support and engineering oversight for the APS platform and Bravura Password Manager
  • Operate and maintain enterprise credential management integrations, including Active Directory, Oracle, mainframe, and non-AD systems
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform incident response and root cause analysis
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and release stabilization
  • Conduct environment validation and system health checks across DEV, QA, and PROD
  • Manage and support access, entitlement, and password workflows
  • Partner with software engineers, IAM architects, and platform owners to ensure seamless operations
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives) as a subject matter expert
  • Create and maintain runbooks, documentation, and operational procedures
  • Contribute to risk reduction, audit readiness, and compliance adherence
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Password / Credential Management systems
  • Working knowledge of:
    • SQL
    • Python
    • LDAP / Active Directory
  • Experience troubleshooting complex, integrated systems
  • Ability to take initiative and independently solve problems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Bravura Password Manager or similar PAM tools (e.g., CyberArk)
  • 1-2 years of software development experience (ability to read/debug code)
  • Familiarity with:
    • RESTful services
    • C++ (nice to have)
  • Experience in regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, etc.)
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP
About the Role
  • This is a platform engineering and operations role, not a software development position
  • You will support a mission-critical credential system used across the enterprise
  • Work involves high-impact initiatives such as:
    • Database migrations
    • Platform upgrades
    • Integration with 10+ enterprise systems
  • You may participate in after-hours production activities as needed
  • Not first-line support, but involved in escalations and complex issue resolution
Team & Environment
  • Agile team with daily collaboration (typical standup ~11:30 AM ET)
  • Focus on high reliability, security, and compliance-driven operations
  • Strong emphasis on ownership, initiative, and problem-solving
Impact
Your work will directly contribute to:
  • Secure credential management across the enterprise
  • Reduced operational risk and system dependency vulnerabilities
  • Compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
  • High availability and resilience of a critical identity platform
