Job description

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Intramural Sports Content Creator to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's Campus Recreation department.

Purpose within the Organization

The purpose of this position is to assist the Intramural Manager and Intramural Coordinator in working the various programs offered within Intramural Sports.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

Your primary goal will be to generate excitement, increase participation, and promote the events and activities within the intramural sports program. Here are some key roles and responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Develop high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content for various platforms, such as social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
  • Create engaging posts, articles, videos, graphics, and other media to showcase upcoming events, game highlights, player spotlights, and general sports-related content.

Event Coverage:

  • Attend intramural sports events, capture photo and video footage, and provide real-time updates on social media platforms.
  • Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and participants to gather stories and insights.
  • Create post-event content, including summaries, highlights, and behind-the-scenes stories.

Collaborations and Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with other campus organizations, student clubs, and local businesses to cross-promote intramural sports events and activities.
  • Build partnerships with relevant influencers or sports personalities to amplify the reach of your content.

Communication:

  • Maintain open communication with the intramural sports program coordinators, managers, and participants to stay informed about upcoming events and updates.

Qualifications:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Expected End Date: June 30, 2027
