What is a creator designer?

Creator Designers are professionals who conceptualize, design, and produce digital or physical content for various platforms and audiences. They often work in fields like social media, advertising, gaming, and multimedia, blending creativity with technical skills to bring ideas to life. Their tasks can include graphic design, video production, animation, and user experience design. Creator Designers typically collaborate with clients or teams to ensure the final product aligns with brand identity and project goals. Their work is essential for engaging audiences and conveying messages effectively.

How does a creator designer typically collaborate with marketing and content teams?

As a Creator Designer, close collaboration with marketing and content teams is essential. You'll often participate in brainstorming sessions to align visual content with campaign objectives, provide design expertise to ensure brand consistency, and adapt assets based on feedback. Regular meetings and digital communication tools are commonly used to coordinate project timelines and share updates. This cross-functional teamwork not only ensures cohesive messaging but also offers opportunities to learn from different perspectives and further develop your creative skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a creator designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creator Designer, you need strong visual design skills, creativity, and proficiency in design principles, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Expertise in industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with digital content platforms are typically required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills help you interpret client needs and work effectively within teams. These skills ensure the creation of compelling, on-brand visual content that meets client objectives and engages target audiences.

Company Summary: Lamps Plus exists to light up your most cherished moments! As the nation’s largest specialty lighting, furniture, and home décor retailer, we offer over 90,000 designs from famous brands to 20+ exclusive lines, with hundreds of new designs introduced every week. We’re shaping the future of digital retail in lighting—and we want you to help drive it. Our mission is clear: to be the authoritative digital destination in the lighting market. Our success is built on digital excellence, and the future of our business depends on how effectively we acquire, engage, and convert customers across performance-driven channels.

Position Summary: The Marketing Manager will report directly into the VP, Customer Acquisitions and own day-to-day execution and optimization across our acquisition channels, including paid social (Meta, Pinterest, and emerging platforms), affiliate marketing, display, and emerging channels such as CTV. Working closely with the Senior Manager of Performance Marketing, this role blends hands-on channel management, partner relationship development, and performance analysis, with a strong focus on measurable growth, efficiency, and ROI. This role is ideal for a performance marketer who is detail-oriented, analytical, and tactical—someone who can move fluidly between hands-on campaign execution and partner negotiation, and who is a genuinely strong collaborator with both internal teams and external partners. You’ll have real input into channel strategy and the testing roadmap, working closely with the Senior Manager to shape where we invest next.

Responsibilities: Paid Social
  • Manage and optimize paid social campaigns across Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Pinterest, and additional platforms as needed.
  • Execute hands-on campaign setup, testing, optimization, and scaling, including audience strategy, creative testing, and budget pacing.
  • Partner closely with creative teams to develop and iterate high-performing ad creative and ideate new creative concepts.
  • Execute tactics to grow our customer base in new audience segments.
Affiliate Marketing
  • Own day-to-day management of the affiliate program—partner relationships, commission structures, and promotional proposals—working with our agency to grow the program profitably and in compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Identify and negotiate new affiliate partnerships across underpenetrated audiences and customer segments.
  • Drive improved in-stock rates, inventory productivity, and service levels across all channels
Display and Emerging Channels
  • Manage display prospecting and retargeting campaigns and help test and evaluate emerging channels such as CTV alongside the Senior Manager.
Influencer Marketing
  • Evaluate creator partners for brand fit, create briefs to guide content, and help build out the channel as part of our affiliate and paid social strategies.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Track and report on performance across channels, optimizing CAC, ROAS, and LTV.
  • Surface insights to inform channel mix and acquisition strategy and evaluate testing partners and platforms with the Senior Manager.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with merchandising, creative, digital, and external partners to plan and align campaigns with seasonal and promotional calendars.
  • Contribute to the broader digital acquisition strategy and testing roadmap alongside the Senior Manager of Performance Marketing.
What You Bring to the Table
  • At least three (3) years of performance or growth marketing experience for an e-commerce or DTC brand, with hands-on experience across multiple acquisition channels (paid social, affiliate, display).
  • Direct experience managing paid social campaigns on Meta and Pinterest, and hands-on experience with at least one major affiliate platform (Impact, CJ Affiliate, Rakuten, AWIN, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills, with proven ability to build dashboards and optimize campaigns against CAC, ROAS, and LTV.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills—you’re a strong, detail-oriented partner to both internal teams and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (1–3 days per week in-office).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with merchandising and promotional planning in a retail environment.
  • Understanding of attribution, incrementality, and full-funnel performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to document business processes, SOPs, or workflows in a clear, structured format

Salary Range: $90K–$130K
