What are creative jobs?

Creative jobs are jobs that require artistic talent or a creative mindset, and they usually refer to jobs in the advertising, marketing, graphic design, apparel manufacturing, literary, and film industries. The specific qualifications for creative jobs vary by field and position. For example, if you want to work in the art department at an ad agency, you need to have strong visual skills, a talent for graphic or fine art, and excellent drawing and drafting skills. Meanwhile, as a copywriter, you need to have strong written communication skills. Your duties and responsibilities also vary depending on the type of creative work you do.

What is a creative?

Creatives are professionals involved in generating original ideas and producing content across various fields, such as advertising, marketing, design, writing, and the arts. Their main role is to develop visually appealing, engaging, or thought-provoking materials that help communicate messages, promote brands, or entertain audiences. Creatives can include graphic designers, copywriters, art directors, illustrators, and more, often working in teams or agencies to bring concepts to life.

How does a creative professional typically collaborate with other departments during a project?

Creative professionals often work closely with teams such as marketing, product management, and development to ensure their concepts align with overall business goals. Collaboration usually involves brainstorming sessions, regular feedback meetings, and iterative revisions based on input from key stakeholders. This cross-functional teamwork helps to refine ideas, maintain brand consistency, and deliver effective campaigns or products. Being open to feedback and adaptable to changes are important qualities for success in this collaborative environment.

Standout soft skills include adaptability, collaboration, and effective communication to convey ideas and work with diverse teams or clients. These skills and qualities are essential to producing compelling work that meets project goals and adapts to evolving creative trends.

Job description

Overview

OneMagnify is an AI native, platform-enabled B2B digital agency operating at the intersection of data, technology, and creativity. We help complex organizations drive measurable business outcomes by building smarter customer experiences and delivering highly integrated solutions across digital, media, and technology. By combining deep industry expertise with advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, we enable our clients to make better decisions, move faster, and compete more effectively in dynamic markets.

Role Summary: The Associate Creative Director, Copy is a senior creative lead responsible for shaping the voice and narrative quality of OneMagnify's work across B2B digital campaigns, content programs, and customer experience platforms. You'll partner closely with art directors, strategists, and account teams to develop ideas that are as smart as they are resonant โ€” work that moves complex organizations and the people inside them. This role sits within our creative practice and has direct impact on the quality and consistency of output across a range of enterprise clients. You'll also play a hands-on mentorship role with junior writers, helping raise the craft bar across the team.

Impact / What Youโ€™ll Have

You'll work across the full content ecosystem: long-form thought leadership, campaign concepting, UX writing, email nurture, and sales enablement. That breadth means you'll need strong instincts about what each format demands โ€” and when to push for a bigger idea versus when execution is the job. You'll bring strategic thinking to briefs, not just responses to them. OneMagnify operates at the intersection of data, technology, and creative services, which means writers here collaborate directly with analytics, engineering, and media teams. The best work happens when copy is informed by how audiences actually behave โ€” and this role gives you the access and context to write that way.

Responsibilities
  • Creative Concepting & Campaign Development: Lead copy concepting on integrated campaigns โ€” from initial brief through final execution โ€” across digital, content, and media channels. Partner with art directors to develop ideas that work visually and verbally, not just headlines that sit on top of a design. Translate complex B2B value propositions into clear, compelling messaging that resonates with senior decision-makers.
  • Content & Copy Execution: Write and edit across formats: long-form content, landing pages, display, email, video scripts, and sales enablement materials. Develop and maintain brand voice guidelines for clients, ensuring consistency across touchpoints and channels. Bring editorial judgment to AI-assisted workflows โ€” knowing when to use generative tools to accelerate, and when craft requires a human-first approach.
  • Client & Strategy Collaboration: Participate in client briefings and presentations, articulating creative rationale clearly and confidently. Work with strategy and analytics teams to ground creative concepts in audience insight and performance data. Contribute to messaging architecture and content strategy as a senior creative voice in integrated planning sessions.
  • Team Leadership & Craft Development: Review, edit, and provide structured feedback on work from junior and mid-level copywriters. Model strong craft standards and help build a culture of clear, purposeful writing across the creative team. Collaborate with creative directors and account leadership on resourcing, quality review, and project prioritization.
What Youโ€™ll Need
  • 7+ years of copywriting experience, with at least 2โ€“3 years in a senior or ACD-level role at an agency or in-house creative team.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range โ€” B2B campaign work, digital content, UX copy, or content strategy โ€” and consistently strong headline and concept thinking.
  • Experience writing for complex categories: technology, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive or similar.
  • Proven ability to develop and protect a client's brand voice across formats and over time.
  • Strong presentation skills โ€” you can walk a room through a concept and make the case for the work.
  • Experience mentoring writers and providing feedback that improves work without crushing voice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Copywriting, English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
Future-Ready Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience working in or alongside AI-assisted content workflows โ€” prompt engineering, editorial review of generated drafts, or integrating AI tools into creative process.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology platforms, CRM ecosystems, or digital experience platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe Experience Cloud, HubSpot).
  • Exposure to UX writing, product copy, or content design within digital platform builds.
  • Experience working in integrated agency environments where creative, data, and technology teams deliver together.
  • Interest in or experience with answer engine optimization (AEO) and how AI-era search is changing content strategy.
Benefits

We believe great work happens when people have the support and flexibility they need to thrive. Our benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can take time away to recharge when you need it. We also offer additional programs focused on wellness, financial security, and professional growth. We are an equal opportunity employer. We believe that innovative ideas and solutions start with unique perspectives. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re committed to providing every employee a workplace thatโ€™s free of discrimination and intolerance. Weโ€™re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and actively search for like-minded people to join our team. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform job functions, and to receive benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
