Job Title โ€“ Video Production Technician

Position Type โ€“ Part-Time, including Sundays

Reports to โ€“ Manager of AVL (Audio, Video and Lighting)

Compensation - $130/service or $26/hour

WHOM WE SEEK:

Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and creative Video Production Technician. This position is responsible for supporting the churchโ€™s online worship experience through video switching and broadcast production. Working closely with the camera operator and other production team members, this position helps deliver a high-quality livestream experience for our Sunday services, and other special events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the video switcher in coordination with the director and camera operator to execute shots
  • Assist with service rehearsals and pre-production preparation
  • Cross-train in camera operation and provide coverage as needed
  • Help maintain cameras, switchers, and organized production spaces
  • Support concerts, conferences, funerals, and weddings as needed
  • Provide general AVL assistance as needed

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of live video production and livestream workflows
  • Familiarity with video switchers, cameras, and broadcast terminology
  • Working knowledge of video signal flow and troubleshooting fundamentals
  • Understanding of teamwork and communication within a live production environment

Skills

  • Ability to work effectively with the camera operator and AVL staff
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to learn new technologies and workflows
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in live video production, broadcast production, church production, or a related field preferred
  • Experience operating video switchers and/or cameras required
  • Experience serving in a church environment preferred
