Job description

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary Life Skills classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. Located near Leander, TX, this rewarding contract position offers the opportunity to nurture growth in K-2 or 3rd-5th grade students, supporting a diverse group of learners with varying abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Texas Special Education Teacher license (K-5) required
  • Previous experience in Special Education preferred, particularly with students with autism and other disabilities
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
  • Skilled in data collection and classroom instruction
  • Commitment to collaborative work and team leadership, including supervising paraprofessionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and facilitate engaging lessons for a classroom of up to 15 students in Life Skills programming
  • Supervise and collaborate with 3-4 paraprofessionals to support daily instruction and individual student needs
  • Manage student caseloads, conducting thorough assessments and progress monitoring
  • Write, maintain, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and interventions
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and skill development

This position is structured as a 37.5-hour work week across five days, providing a stable and consistent schedule in an elementary setting. You’ll have the resources and support needed to deliver impactful instruction in a welcoming school community.
