Job description

Product Development & Packaging Project Manager
We are seeking a highly organized Product Development & Packaging Project Manager to support our Product Development team. This role will focus on project coordination, timeline management, and cross-functional execution across new product launches, packaging updates, and repack initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing multiple workstreams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects on track from concept through production.
Location: Hybrid, from home and in office in Manhattan Beach, CA.
Type: Contract - Temporary, approximately a 4-month term, potential for permanent role.
Pay: $60-$75 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Timeline Management
  • Manage timelines across product development and packaging projects with a focus on meeting all key milestones
  • Track deliverables and ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Escalate issues related to timelines and help troubleshoot to drive execution and meet launch deadlines
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between Product Development, Creative, Operations, and Marketing teams
  • Maintain project trackers, documentation, and status updates for all active SKUs

Vendor & Supplier Coordination
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for packaging vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Track supplier timelines and follow up on deliverables
  • Support cost gathering and vendor documentation

Sample & Test Management
  • Coordinate product and packaging sample requests
  • Help oversee the testing plan, including requesting quotes, coordinating shipment of product, and completing product submission forms
  • Track testing schedules, collect feedback, and save and organize test reports

Documentation & Tracking
  • Maintain organized documentation for product development & packaging projects
  • Track project status, risks, and next steps
  • Ensure internal teams have access to updated project information

Quality & Issue Management
  • Help coordinate responses to product or packaging quality inquiries
  • Document issues and track resolution with suppliers and internal teams
Qualifications
  • 3-6+ years experience in product development project management, preferably in beauty, skincare, or consumer products
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience coordinating with packaging vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects
Preferred Experience
  • Beauty, skincare, or personal care industry experience
  • Familiarity with packaging and product development processes
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including creative, marketing, and operations
