Group Description: The Metals, Materials & Mining team advises a broad range of corporate, government, and financial sponsor clients involved in the extraction, processing, production, and recycling of commodities, materials, and critical minerals. The team works at the intersection of geopolitics, supply chain disruption, and the global energy transition. What is the Position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Associate for its Metals, Materials & Mining Group in New York, NY.

Primary Responsibilities: Evercore’s differentiated approach to advisory provides Associates with the ability to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming transactions around the world. The small transaction team structure creates a strong platform for Associates to assume high levels of responsibility at early stages of their careers. As part of the team, the Associate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of strategic advisory assignments including: sellside and buyside M&A engagements; activism and raid defense; divestitures and spin-off engagements; equity and equity-linked capital-raising; debt private placements; special committee engagements; debt and restructuring advisory and, more broadly, evaluation of strategic alternatives.

Specific Qualifications: The Associate will be ambitious, self-directed, creative and resourceful. The candidate will be passionately interested in a career in investment banking, intellectually-curious and eager to learn. We are seeking an academically accomplished candidate with the ability to multitask. This position comes with challenging work and a demanding environment in a rapidly growing firm.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Graduate of a top tier Business School or Associate promote
• An excellent, team-based attitude
• Relentless work ethic and high energy level
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Calm under pressure with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Intellectual curiosity and an interest in finance and macroeconomics

Expected Base Salary Range:$185,000 - $250,000
