Creative Job information

What are creative jobs?

Creative jobs are professions that involve imagination, originality, and artistic skills to produce new ideas, concepts, or products. These roles can include artists, graphic designers, writers, musicians, photographers, and other positions focused on expressing ideas through different media. People in creative jobs often work in industries such as advertising, entertainment, publishing, and design, developing content that informs, entertains, or inspires others. Creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability are key skills for success in these roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Creative Director, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creative Director, you need a strong background in visual design, branding, and creative strategy, often supported by a degree in design, fine arts, or a related field. Mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and experience with project management tools are typically required. Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills help drive teams toward innovative solutions and cohesive campaigns. These abilities ensure the consistent delivery of compelling creative work that aligns with client goals and market trends.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in creative roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in creative roles often encounter challenges such as tight deadlines, balancing client expectations with creative vision, and occasional creative blocks. Maintaining open communication with clients and team members helps ensure everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines. To overcome creative blocks, many creatives find it helpful to seek inspiration from diverse sources or collaborate with colleagues for fresh perspectives. Additionally, establishing a structured workflow can help manage multiple projects more efficiently and reduce stress.

Job description

DealMaker is a fast-growing fintech company revolutionizing the capital markets ecosystem with a mission to make online capital raising mainstream. We empower founders, CEOs, and operators to raise capital digitally, both from their own communities and through strategically marketed campaigns. No other platform provides an end-to-end solution like ours—and our track record speaks for itself, with over $2B raised across 1,000+ campaigns. We power the largest online capital raises for customers like EnergyX ($88M), Green Bay Packers ($65M), Miso Robotics ($72M+), Monogram Orthopaedics (Nasdaq:MGRM) and many others, with 3 IPOs in the past year alone. We are quickly expanding our horizons and are seeking talented team members to join us on our journey to transform the global capital market.

Who you are

This is not a traditional creative role. We’re looking for a performance-driven Creative Strategist who can combine storytelling, data, and experimentation to drive measurable business outcomes. You’ll own creative strategy across campaigns, from concept to performance, and play a key role in scaling how we produce and optimize creative.

You’ll also leverage AI as a tool to move faster, test more, and improve output, but first and foremost, you are a strong creative thinker grounded in performance marketing.

What You’ll DoStrategic Creative Direction
  • Develop creative strategies and campaign concepts grounded in audience insight and performance goals

  • Write clear, testable creative briefs that drive measurable results

  • Lead creative across key channels (paid social, landing pages, email)

  • Translate data into actionable creative direction and iterate based on performance

Performance Optimization & Experimentation
  • Analyze performance metrics (CTR, CVR, ROAS, etc.) to inform creative decisions

  • Design and execute A/B tests to continuously improve outcomes

  • Connect top-of-funnel creative performance to deeper funnel metrics (conversion, revenue)

  • Identify patterns in performance data and translate them into scalable creative insights

AI-Enabled Creative Workflows
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, ideation, testing, and production

  • Experiment with AI-driven workflows to increase creative output and speed

  • Identify opportunities to streamline creative processes using automation and tooling

  • Contribute to building repeatable workflows the broader team can adopt

(Note: deep technical system-building is not required, but curiosity and experimentation with AI is essential.)

Client Engagement & Creative Leadership
  • Act as the creative lead for assigned clients and campaigns

  • Present and defend creative strategy with confidence and clarity

  • Provide strategic guidance on messaging, positioning, and creative direction

  • Ensure all deliverables meet a high bar for quality and performance

Project Ownership & Collaboration
  • Own creative timelines and deliverables across multiple campaigns

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with paid media, production, and retention teams

  • Identify risks early and proactively drive solutions

  • Help improve internal creative processes and team efficiency

What You NeedCore Requirements
  • Proven experience in creative strategy, ideally in performance marketing or DTC environments

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative work tied to performance outcomes (e.g., ROAS, CTR, conversions)

  • Strong business and market curiosity, with a natural interest in how companies grow, invest, acquire customers, and drive revenue, and a habit of staying up to date on trends across marketing, consumer behavior, and emerging industries.

  • Ability to think across the full funnel, not just top-of-funnel creative

  • Strong copy and concept development skills

  • Excellent communication and ability to present to internal and external stakeholders

  • A problem-solver mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments

AI & Tools (Important, but Flexible)
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Zapier etc.) to enhance creative workflows

  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new tools and approaches

  • Ability to identify opportunities where AI can improve speed, scale, or quality

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience building or contributing to AI-driven workflows or automations

  • Familiarity with tools like Zapier, Make, or similar platforms

  • Experience training or enabling teams on new tools or processes

This is a hybrid, Los Angeles–based role (3 days in-office in the Culver City area) requiring strong overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST) working hours to support team collaboration.
