Job description

About Suno
We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfilment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.
Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it's incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible.
Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).
About the Role
If you've spent your career building financial rigor at high-growth companies and want a seat at the table where AI and creative entertainment intersect - this is it. As Director of Strategic Finance, you'll report to our VP of Finance and own the full arc of strategic finance at Suno: long-range planning, investor storytelling, corporate development, and the cross-functional decision support that helps a fast-moving company make smarter bets. You'll be a trusted advisor, a force multiplier across the business, and a direct contributor to the financial strategy that shapes what Suno becomes. This role is based in New York City.
Check out the Suno version of this role!
What You'll Do
Strategy & Financial Planning
  • Own Suno's long-range financial plan, annual budget, and rolling forecasts - translating company ambitions into rigorous, dynamic models across revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability
  • Lead strategy projects including business model evaluation, deal modeling, and scenario planning that directly inform leadership decisions
  • Analyze unit economics and key performance metrics to guide growth strategy, pricing, and resource allocation across the business
  • Leverage AI tools in your day-to-day workflow - from accelerating financial modeling and research to streamlining reporting and analysis - and help raise the bar for how the finance team operates

Corporate Development
  • Evaluate and structure strategic partnerships, and other value-creation initiatives
  • Support capital markets activity - including investor relations materials, board reporting, and fundraising processes - that tell our financial story to external stakeholders

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations to provide financial insight that accelerates decision-making and helps the whole company move faster
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the VP of Finance and broader leadership team, and represent finance in cross-functional forums
  • Shape how Suno builds toward a future where creative fulfillment is a daily reality for everyone - contributing the financial foundation that makes that mission possible

What You'll Need
Must-Haves
  • 10+ years of experience across investment banking, consulting, private equity, or strategic finance at a high-growth technology or consumer company
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity, with a demonstrated track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, FP&A, and corporate development; comfortable moving between 30,000-foot strategy and granular analysis
  • Proven, habitual use of AI tools in day-to-day finance workflows - modeling, research, analysis, reporting - with the curiosity to keep pushing what's possible
  • Strong understanding of consumer subscription and/or AI/SaaS business models and their key value drivers
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills - you can translate complex financial concepts for any audience, from the board to a cross-functional team
  • A bias toward action and a track record of driving outcomes in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Nice-to-Haves
  • Familiarity with financial and data platforms such as Stripe, RevenueCat, Ramp, and ERPs
  • Experience at an AI-native or AI-forward company, with firsthand exposure to how AI is reshaping business operations and finance functions
  • Genuine passion for music and/or creator economy products

Work Location Policy
This role is expected to work from the designated Suno office 5 days a week, per Suno's company policy. Full-time employees will receive competitive equity packages, and comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered may vary depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
Additional Notes
Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
Willingness to travel (up to 20%) to collaborate with team members across Suno office locations.
Perks & Benefits for Full-Time Employees
  • Company Equity Package
  • 401(k) with 3% Employer Match & Roth 401(k)
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (PPO w/ HSA & FSA options)
  • 11 Paid Holidays + Unlimited PTO & Sick Time
  • 16 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave
  • Creative Education Stipend
  • Generous Commuter Allowance
  • In-Office Lunch (5 days per week)
