ABOUT STANDING UNITED
Standing United, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping people overcome addiction, homelessness, and the barriers that prevent lasting transformation.
We provide recovery education, empowerment programs, housing support, community outreach, daily recovery meetings, mindfulness instruction, court advocacy, and connections to essential resources.
Now we are building the next generation of recovery education: engaging video lessons, digital curriculum, facilitator resources, and practical tools that treatment centers, sober living homes, recovery programs, and communities can use nationwide.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on creative professional to become our Founding Creative Director & AI Content Producer.
This is not simply a video-editing job. It is an opportunity to help build a recovery education platform from the ground up and transform powerful teachings into content that can genuinely change lives.
Standing United already has an extensive library of recovery content, including hundreds of short videos, lectures, classes, and recorded teachings. Your job will be to transform that material into compelling, emotionally engaging educational experiences.
You will work closely and in person with founder Danny Lansdale from our Fullerton, California office. We are looking for a creative partner who can take an idea from raw footage to a polished lesson—not someone who only manages other creators.
WHAT YOU’LL CREATE
• Engaging recovery education videos built from existing teachings and raw footage
• Professionally edited lessons using multiple camera angles, B-roll, motion graphics, music, sound design, text, and visual storytelling
• Short-form content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms
• Discussion questions, worksheets, facilitator guides, journal prompts, and supporting lesson materials
• Course modules and digital curriculum for treatment centers and recovery programs
• Promotional content, trailers, presentations, and campaign materials
• Repeatable AI-assisted production systems that help us create high-quality content efficiently
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Edit raw video and audio into polished, emotionally engaging lessons
• Identify the strongest hooks, stories, teaching moments, and emotional arcs
• Add appropriate B-roll, graphics, animation, music, sound effects, captions, and visual emphasis
• Use AI tools to accelerate editing, research, ideation, scripting, asset creation, repurposing, and curriculum development
• Convert one core teaching into multiple formats and platform-ready assets
• Create discussion questions, worksheets, facilitator resources, and journal prompts connected to each lesson
• Help establish Standing United’s creative identity, visual standards, and storytelling style
• Organize creative assets and build a dependable content-production workflow
• Collaborate directly with the founder while bringing your own ideas, instincts, and creative leadership
• Help shape the long-term vision for a national recovery education platform
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You may come from filmmaking, video editing, motion design, content production, education, marketing, AI-assisted media, or a combination of these fields.
We care more about your talent, creative judgment, work ethic, portfolio, and ability to learn than about a particular degree.
The right person:
• Is an excellent hands-on video editor and visual storyteller
• Understands pacing, emotional impact, attention, and audience retention
• Has experience with B-roll, sound design, music, captions, graphics, and motion
• Is excited by AI and actively experiments with emerging creative tools
• Can work independently and take ownership of projects
• Can turn complex recovery and personal-growth concepts into clear, engaging content
• Is organized enough to manage a large content library and production pipeline
• Accepts feedback without losing creative initiative
• Is dependable, curious, mission-driven, and excited to build something meaningful
• Is comfortable working on-site in Fullerton, California
EXPERIENCE WITH SOME OF THE FOLLOWING IS HELPFUL
Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, After Effects, Photoshop, Canva, Descript, OpusClip, Runway, generative AI image or video tools, AI writing and research tools, learning-management systems, and digital curriculum production.
You do not need to know every tool. You do need to be highly capable, creatively resourceful, and eager to keep learning.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
This position offers the opportunity to become a foundational member of an organization with an established recovery community, a substantial content library, and a mission to bring hope and transformation to people at scale.
You will not be joining a finished creative department. You will help build it.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit:
• Your résumé or LinkedIn profile
• A portfolio or links to your strongest video and creative work
• A brief explanation of why this mission and role interest you
• Examples of how you currently use AI in your creative process
• Your availability to work on-site in Fullerton, California
Finalists will be invited to complete a small paid creative project using provided source material. This will allow both sides to evaluate creative fit, communication, and working style.
