Turn data into growth-and smart testing into measurable impact. As Manager, Performance Marketing, you'll help shape and optimize paid acquisition strategies that connect Hearst Magazines' brands and consumer businesses with audiences across channels.
About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)
Hearst Magazines' portfolio of more than 30 iconic brands in the U.S. inspires and entertains audiences across all media platforms. We reach millions of readers and viewers each month across digital, print, video, social, and emerging platforms, creating trusted content and experiences that connect with audiences wherever they are.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Execute paid acquisition campaigns across Hearst Magazines' portfolio, supporting memberships, email acquisition, direct products, and brand licensing.
  • Manage and optimize campaigns across social, search, and other acquisition channels, including budgets, bidding strategies, audience targeting, pacing, and performance to drive efficient customer growth and maximize ROI.
  • Lead creative testing and audience experimentation in partnership with Creative, including exploring AI-enabled creative development and emerging advertising opportunities.
  • Analyze campaign performance against established benchmarks and KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve acquisition efficiency, conversion rates, ROAS, and long-term customer value.
  • Partner with Analytics to evaluate attribution, incrementality, and overall business impact, translating findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Audience Growth, Integrated Consumer Marketing, Creative, Product, Lifecycle Marketing, and Analytics to execute integrated acquisition strategies and support broader growth objectives.
  • Oversee campaign setup, QA, budget tracking, forecasting, reporting, and documentation while identifying new platforms, capabilities, audience strategies, and industry trends worth testing.
  • Coach and support Associate Managers in developing performance marketing expertise while fostering a collaborative culture centered on experimentation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
  • 4+ years of experience managing paid media campaigns for a consumer business.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta, Google, and other paid acquisition platforms, with a strong understanding of campaign setup, optimization, and measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of customer acquisition and performance marketing metrics, including CPA, CPL, ROAS, conversion rates, and ROI.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and using performance data to inform campaign optimization and investment decisions.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across creative, analytical, marketing, product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimentation, AI-enabled marketing, emerging platforms, and continuous learning; experience coaching or supporting the development of colleagues is preferred.
  • This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule requiring four days per week in the office.

Benefits (What We Offer)
  • Work with the Best: Collaborate with top-tier professionals across media, advertising, tech, fashion, lifestyle, and publishing, shaping the future of these dynamic industries.
  • Grow Your Skills: Unlock your potential with access to innovative training programs, immersive workshops, and exclusive industry events.
  • Work-Life Harmony: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work, empowering you to balance professional success with personal priorities.
  • Foster Connection & Belonging: Join our Employee Resource Groups and help create a welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
  • Wellness First: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance from Day 1.
  • Plan for Your Financial Future: Enjoy competitive financial perks, including a 401(k) plan with a generous company match.

The base salary range for this role is $76,000-$82,400. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
