Position Announcement
Utah Valley University seeks a student to assist the Communication Department during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Temporary Assignment - Fall Semester August 10, 2026 - May 15, 2027
20 Hours per week maximum at $15 per hour.
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work with faculty to create social media content.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (status text, photos, videos, news, etc.).
  • Create a monthly newsletter for Communication students.
  • Serve as the point person for general student inquiries.
  • Assist with the department website.
  • Assist the Department Chair with regional conference planning.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student in Applied Communication or Public Relations and Strategic Communication major with Junior or Senior status
  • Ability to devote an entire year (two semesters)

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with creative software and social media (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of working with diverse populations.
