What is creative consulting?

Creative consulting is a professional service where experts provide guidance and ideas to help businesses or individuals enhance their branding, marketing, product development, or overall creative strategies. Creative consultants use their industry knowledge and artistic insight to develop concepts, solve problems, and inspire innovation. They may work on advertising campaigns, design projects, content creation, or organizational storytelling. The goal is to bring fresh perspectives that drive engagement and achieve specific creative objectives.

How does a creative consultant typically collaborate with clients and internal teams throughout a project?

Creative Consultants work closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure that creative solutions align with business objectives. This often involves participating in brainstorming sessions, presenting concepts, gathering feedback, and refining ideas based on stakeholder input. Consultants frequently bridge the gap between creative vision and practical execution, ensuring that deliverables not only meet aesthetic standards but also serve the client's goals. Open communication and flexibility are key, as projects may evolve based on new insights or changing requirements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a creative consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creative Consultant, you need a strong background in design thinking, marketing strategy, and industry-specific knowledge, often supported by a degree in a creative field or relevant experience. Familiarity with design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite), project management tools, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving skills help you connect with clients and inspire teams. These abilities are crucial for delivering innovative solutions that meet client goals and drive brand success.

What is the difference between Creative Consulting vs Graphic Design?

AspectCreative ConsultingGraphic Design

Work EnvironmentClient meetings, strategic planning, collaborative projectsDesign studios, freelance, or in-house teams
Employer & Industry UsageMarketing agencies, branding firms, consulting companiesAdvertising agencies, media companies, in-house marketing teams

Creative Consulting involves strategic advice, branding, and marketing guidance, often working directly with clients to develop overall brand strategies. Graphic Design focuses on creating visual content like logos, layouts, and advertisements. While both roles require creativity and a strong portfolio, Creative Consulting emphasizes strategic thinking and client collaboration, whereas Graphic Design centers on visual execution.

As a Sr Creative Solutions Consultant, you will lead complex creative engagements for priority LinkedIn Marketing Solutions customers in North America. This person has a strong background in creative production and effectiveness for a wide variety of advertisers, preferably in the B2B arena. This role partners closely with sales, internal cross-functional partners, external production partners, and agencies.

The ideal candidate is a strong creative and marketing consultant who has worked alongside creative teams to facilitate high-volume, high-quality asset production across the content spectrum, from static posts to motion graphics to live-action shoots. They have experience working with demanding customers at an executive level, establishing production schedules, coordinating production shoots and timelines, managing numerous workstreams simultaneously, and ushering creative assets through complex approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Engage client executive stakeholders independently to sell in Creative Studio offerings and educate customers on offerings that can lead to broader programming and investment across the BrandWorks Studio portfolio.

  • Lead production-focused creative engagements for priority LinkedIn Marketing Solutions customers in North America, translating customer objectives into clear briefs, production plans, and high-quality creative deliverables.

  • Partner closely with sales, internal cross-functional partners, external production partners, and agencies to move creative work from concept through execution, review, approval, and delivery.

  • Manage high-volume production schedules across multiple customer workstreams at once, including timelines, dependencies, shoot coordination, feedback cycles, approvals, and delivery milestones.

  • Guide production of creative assets across formats, including static posts, motion graphics, video, live-action shoots, and other content executions that support customer campaign objectives.

  • Bring content and creative expertise to help customers strengthen messaging, improve creative quality, and align assets to LinkedIn platform requirements, brand guidelines, and campaign effectiveness goals.

  • Engage demanding customers and executive stakeholders with confidence, managing expectations, resolving ambiguity, and guiding decisions when feedback, timing, or creative direction conflicts.

  • Identify production risks early, escalate blockers appropriately, and protect quality, timing, customer trust, and commercial expectations through strong project ownership.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in client-facing creative production, creative solutions, agency account management, integrated production, or a closely related creative-services role within advertising, media, technology, or an agency environment.

  • 3+ years of experience leading end-to-end creative engagements from discovery and brief development through production, client review, approvals, and final asset delivery, while managing multiple concurrent workstreams, timelines, dependencies, feedback cycles, and delivery deadlines.

  • 3+ experience partnering directly with advertising sales or other commercial teams, customers and external agencies or production partners to align stakeholders, manage expectations, and translate campaign and business objectives into effective creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in B2B marketing, digital advertising, paid social, brand marketing, performance marketing, or LinkedIn Marketing Solutions.

  • Experience using creative diagnostics, campaign performance signals, testing methods, or measurement frameworks to improve creative and campaign outcomes.

  • Experience building trusted relationships with senior marketing, sales, agency, creative, production, legal, procurement, or measurement stakeholders.

  • Experience translating ambiguous customer needs into actionable briefs, partner-ready guidance, production plans, and decision frameworks.

  • Demonstrated communication, facilitation, storytelling, presentation, and executive-influence skills.

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ownership of timelines, dependencies, feedback cycles, risk management, escalation paths, and delivery quality.

  • Ability to apply AI-enabled tools and workflows thoughtfully to improve creative intelligence, content strategy, production efficiency, and customer impact.
