Location: Dayton, TX

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Transport & Rigging Supervisor to oversee specialized heavy haul, lifting, rigging, and transport operations supporting complex industrial projects. This position is responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating transportation and lifting activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the successful execution of heavy cargo movement projects.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with heavy transport operations, rigging activities, hydraulic transport equipment, and project execution within industries such as heavy construction, industrial manufacturing, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation, renewable energy, marine, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily heavy transport, rigging, and equipment operations at project sites and company facilities.
  • Coordinate field personnel, equipment, subcontractors, and project resources to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
  • Ensure all work activities comply with company safety policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct pre-job planning, hazard assessments, and daily safety reviews to identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Oversee transport operations involving oversized, overweight, and specialized cargo movements.
  • Support the execution of heavy lift, rigging, skidding, jacking, and engineered transport activities.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and equipment utilization while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Review engineered drawings, lift plans, transport plans, and project documentation to ensure proper execution.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project management teams to develop practical field solutions.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Ensure accurate completion and submission of operational reports, inspections, equipment documentation, maintenance requests, and employee timesheets.
  • Maintain compliance with all site-specific requirements and operational procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting field challenges and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience within heavy transport, rigging, lifting, heavy haul, or related industrial operations.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience supporting heavy transport and rigging projects.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging practices, heavy haul operations, and specialized transport equipment.
  • Experience supervising field crews and coordinating multi-discipline project activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, transport plans, and project documentation.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and operational requirements within applicable jurisdictions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and travel to project locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).
  • Experience with hydraulic skidding systems and hydraulic gantry systems.
  • Background in heavy lift and engineered transport operations.
  • Experience supporting refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation, renewable energy, marine, or large industrial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of specialized heavy transport planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with lift studies, route planning, load calculations, and engineered transport solutions.
