Decatur Port Job Opportunity

Parker Towing Company operates ports and terminals in Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee; Decatur, Pickensville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Axis, and Mobile, Alabama. Qualified applicants must be motivated to work a flexible schedule, eager to work with a multitude of cargos, be prepared to serve our customers in a variety of projects and accept variances in work schedule to include occasional weekends and holidays. Some travel may be required.

This particular job opening is for our Port in Decatur, Alabama, though the job may require some work at our other facilities from time to time.

Motivated candidates will have the opportunity to progress within the organization and potentially qualify for differing positions in Operations and Management based upon skill sets and aptitude.

Responsibilities:
  • Forklift Operation (80,000 lbs.) primarily lifting and placing steel coils
  • Operating skid steers, other forklifts and equipment
  • Assist loading/unloading barges
  • Assist with cleaning barges
  • Assist crane operators
  • Unload/load trucks
  • Assist in the maintenance of the facility
Requirements:
  • Applicant must live within 50 miles of assigned port
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Ability to show up to work on time
  • Work flexible schedule and possible overtime
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment
  • Experience in running equipment a plus (forklift, skid steer, front end loader, crane)
