Position Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Crane/Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating mobile cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment on job sites.
  • Eligible candidates having the ability to operate other heavy equipment are preferred.
  • Operate cranes in a safe and efficient manner according to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Inspect cranes and rigging equipment prior to use to ensure safe operation.
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors, riggers, and ground personnel to coordinate lifts.
  • Maintain daily equipment logs and report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or motor graders
  • Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
  • Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches
  • Uses equipment to prepare for the construction of parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and roads.
  • Operates machinery used to build bridges, roads, and railroads.
  • Inspects equipment prior to beginning shift.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Greases Equipment daily
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Valid Crane Operator certification (NCCCO or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating cranes in construction or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of crane operation principles, load charts, and rigging.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and lift plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, work in outdoor environments, and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance
  • Ability to follow instructions.

Education and Experience:
  • Experience running other heavy equipment preferred.
  • Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • On-the-job training offered.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
  • Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
