Position Description
Harper Brothers Construction - Laborer
Company Summary: Built to Deliver
Harper Brothers Construction isn't just building infrastructure-we're building what matters most: people, partnerships, and lasting impact. Founded in 2014 by second-generation builders, we bring grit, innovation, and proven expertise to every project we take on.
With operations across Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, our mobile crews and powerful fleet allow us to go where the work is-and deliver safely, efficiently, and without compromise. At HBC, safety isn't a priority-it's our culture, driving everything we do from the ground up.
About the Role
We're seeking a motivated and hardworking Field Laborer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll support daily construction activities, assist field crews, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and wants to build hands-on skills and grow a long-term career in construction.
What You'll Do
    • Perform general construction labor tasks including site preparation, material handling, and clean-up
    • Assist equipment operators, pipe layers, carpenters, and concrete finishers as needed
    • Load, unload, and distribute building materials to appropriate locations on-site
    • Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment at all times
    • Operate basic hand tools and small equipment under supervision
    • Support the crew in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion
    • Partner with crew members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and job site productivity
    • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

Position Requirements
What You Bring
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Prior construction or field labor experience required; plant experience strongly preferred
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor
    • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules based on project needs
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
    • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
    • Commitment to safety and teamwork
    • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members

Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a physical
    • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and work on your feet for extended periods
    • Ability to work in physically demanding and outdoor environments

Work Schedule Expectations
    • Must be able to work 6-7 days per week based on project demands
    • Shifts may begin as early as 4:00 AM and extend up to 6:00 PM, depending on job site needs
    • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and flexible hours as required

Why Join Harper Brothers Construction?
    • Be part of a company that puts people and safety first
    • Work in a collaborative and supportive team environment
    • Gain exposure to diverse projects and multi-state operations
    • Opportunities for growth and career development
    • Hands-on training and advancement opportunities in construction
    • Competitive pay and benefits including PTO, paid holidays, 401k, medical, vision, and dental
