Job description

ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN, SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Hourly rate range: $32.00 to $40.00 per hour

Responsible for building and preparing hardware kits that support the deployment of advanced autonomous vehicle technology systems. In this role, you'll work from detailed instructions, assembly procedures, and schematics to accurately assemble, inspect, and prepare components for integration and testing.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working hands-on with mechanical and electrical systems, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. Successful candidates often come from independent automotive repair facilities, automotive trade programs, automotive electronics installation, aerospace or aviation assembly environments, or other hands-on technical roles where precision, troubleshooting, and craftsmanship are essential.
Candidates with autonomous vehicle operations or software testing experience are also encouraged to apply if they have previous technician experience or significant hands-on mechanical experience outside of work, such as building project cars or assembling custom computers.
Available Shifts
AM: 5:00 AM- 1:30 PM
PM: 1:00 PM- 9:30 PM
Shift hours are tentative and subject to change
Note: Initial training will follow a Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM schedule for approximately two weeks before transitioning to one of the shift options above.

  • Assemble sensor modules, hardware kits, cable harnesses, and related components according to documented procedures.
  • Follow assembly instructions, diagrams, and schematics to ensure accurate builds.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process.
  • Use hand tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Identify and report damage, missing, or non-conforming components.
  • Label, organize, and prepare completed kits for handoff to validation and bring-up teams.
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory records as required.
  • Keep workstations, tools, and shop areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Support inventory organization and material handling activities.
  • Follow all established quality, safety, and production procedures.

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience performing hardware assembly, manufacturing, or production work. Comfortable using hand tools and basic assembly equipment.
