We have partnered with an industrial machinery manufacturing company in the Hanover, PA area to provide them with a Business Development Manager. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Business Development Manager:

#1. Must have at least 5yrs of B2B Sales experience.

#2. Must have experience working with Metal products or in the Metal Manufacturing industry.

#3. Must have a proven sales track record.

#4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10yrs.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:

  • Develop a strong pipeline of new customers that fits PCIs current core competencies and the Ideal Customer matrix. Develop relationships with multiple points of contact and create activity that produces new business opportunities.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth with current strategic customers by expanding our connections through an organization with a goal to produce new business opportunities.
  • Log and report weekly sales activity including customer visits, proposals submitted and next steps with an intentional effort to move new business forward.
  • Effectively communicate the business case for new RFQs to the VP of Sales and VP of Engineering. Gather the necessary data allowing for the most cost-efficient customer quote.
  • Participate with new customer onboarding meetings to ensure success that include:
    • Sales forecasting & budgeting.
    • Support Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality during the startup process as needed.
  • Work closely with internal Account Managers and Manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in the Annual Business Reviews.

Requirements of the Business Development Manager:

  • Bachelors degree in business or engineering preferred but not necessary.
  • Proven track record of business development with a minimum of 5 years of outside B2B sales experience in the metal fabrication industry, metal fabrication equipment sales, or related markets.
  • Ability to engage multiple points of contact within an organization to engage the decision makers.
  • Strong metal fabrication background required, with experience selling laser cutting, bending, and forming, welding, CNC machining and Value Add services.
  • Ability to read customer drawings and provide insight on cost savings ideas when appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with external and internal customers.
  • Open minded, curious, and willing to learn.
  • Be part of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Positive attitude with a passion to succeed.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of business development with a minimum of 5 years of outside B2B sales experience in the metal fabrication industry, metal fabrication equipment sales, or related markets.
  • Ability to engage multiple points of contact within an organization to engage the decision makers.

Other Key Requirements:

  • 100% in office role (for at least the first 4-6 months)
  • Weekly travel required with occasional overnight travel.
  • No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
