Summary of Role:

MIPS - A GlobalFoundries company is seeking a Design Verification Engineer to join our CPU verification team. The successful candidate will work on verification of processor components, focusing on CPU core functionality,performanceand modeling. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced verification methodologies and collaborate with world-class architects and designers. This role is based in Plano, Texas.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Perform functional verification of CPU cores and related subsystems.

  • Understand and interpret microarchitectural specifications to develop effective verification strategies.

  • Develop and execute verification plans, including testbench creation and test case development.

  • Write directed and constrained random test cases inSystemVerilog, C, and Assembly.

  • Utilize UVM-based environments for coverage-driven verification.

  • Analyze coverage reports andassistin closing coverage gaps.

  • Automate regression and verification flows using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to ensure design quality and performance.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Securityrequirementsand programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education-Graduating withBachelor'sinElectronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, ComputerScienceor related fieldfroman accredited degree program.

  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

  • Hands-on experience withSystemVerilog, UVM, and constrained random verification.

  • Familiarity with CPU architectures such as RISC-V, ARM, or MIPS.

  • Basic understanding of cache and coherency concepts.

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Shell.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven written and verbal technical communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative team player able to broadly contribute project goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience.

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

  • Strong interest inleveragingAI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making.

  • Project management skills,i.e.the ability to innovate andexecutesolutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning & organizational skills

  • Exposure toRISC-V architecture.

  • Knowledge of interconnect protocols like AXI, ACE, or CHI.

  • Experience with FPGA prototyping or emulation platforms.
