Job description

For over 22 years I have helped our client, a well established distribution company near Montclair, NJ, identify top talent at all levels.

They are currently searching for an experienced QA/QC & Compliance Specialist to support their Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and regulatory compliance activities.
This position plays an important role in ensuring that products, packaging, documentation, and internal processes meet company quality standards and applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
In this role YOU will:


- Review product specifications, testing documentation, inspection results, and quality records.
- Coordinate product inspections and testing.
- Review incoming product and packaging for conformance to approved specifications/standards.
- Investigate product quality issues, customer complaints, and potential product defects.
- Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain QA/QC records, testing reports, product specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Identify recurring quality issues and work with various teams to implement corrective actions.
- Review products, packaging, labels, warnings, instructions, and documentation for compliance.
- Maintain product compliance files, including test reports, Certificates of Conformity (COCs), Certificates of Analysis (COAs), supplier declarations, and specifications.
- Coordinate third-party product testing and certification when required.
- Monitor changes to applicable regulations, standards, and customer compliance requirements.
- Assist with compliance requirements related to consumer products, including applicable CPSC, CPSIA, ASTM, FDA, FTC, state, and retailer/customer requirements.
- Support product recalls, corrective actions, regulatory inquiries, and documentation requests.
- Communicate quality and compliance requirements to domestic and international suppliers.
- Partner with other departments to resolve quality or compliance issues.
- Provide compliance documentation in response to customer and retailer requests.

YOU might be the RIGHT person if YOU have:


- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Business, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Previous experience in QA, QC, Product and Regulatory Compliance within the Consumer Products industry.
- Ability to read/interpret product specifications, test reports, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Comfort communicating with suppliers, testing labs, customers, and internal departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and document-management systems.
- Experience working with imported consumer products or overseas suppliers.
- Familiarity with CPSC/CPSIA, ASTM standards, product testing, and labeling requirements a plus.
