Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)is looking for experiencedCritical Care Registered NursesandCritical Care Registered Nurse Traineeswho will be assigned to theEmergency Department.This position will plan, evaluate, and implement patient care according to accepted standards of practice.

ARMC’s Critical Care Registered Nurse Trainee Level offers experienced RNs the opportunity to train in a new specialty and advance their careers! Incumbents will automatically advance to Journey Level upon completion of preceptorship/orientation and possession of specialty certifications required by unit.

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles),Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit,456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospitallicensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire’s newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-employment process:Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, drug test, verification of employment history and education.

Availability:Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.

Certifications:Additional certifications may be required depending on the needs of the department.

Minimum Requirements
  • Critical Care RN Trainee
    • Experience: One (1) year full-time equivalent experience as a licensed registered nurse.
    • Licenses and Certifications:
      • Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
      • Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Critical Care RN
    • Experience: One (1) year full-time equivalent experience as a licensed registered nurse.
    • Licenses and Certifications:
      • Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
      • Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Critical Care RNs (Journey Level) must also possess and maintain the following unit specific certifications/courses required to work in the Emergency Department:
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
      • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
      • PALS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
      • Basic Arrhythmia Class
    • Within 6 months of hire:
      • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification issued by ARMC
      • Critical Care Course OR
      • Critical Care RN Certification OR
      • Certified Emergency Nurse Certification
Desired Qualifications

Candidates possessing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and experience and certifications in an Emergency Department is desired.
