Description:

Summary: Efficiently process incoming files and communications from various patent offices and foreign associates, interpreting data accurately, to ensure timely filing of documents and transactions handled by the Firm.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Properly sort, and track source data and identify and interpret data to be entered into CMI.
  • Docketing of U.S. and foreign correspondence. Accurately and efficiently identify correspondence in CPI; docket applicable action due dates; update information in CPI as needed; properly route correspondence; and have correspondence verified.
  • Process and docket emails from Docketing email boxes.
  • Correspond with CPI and Foreign agents where there are data discrepancies, questions on country law, etc.
  • Process CMI requests, including opening CPI records for U.S., foreign patents and trademarks and general matters.
  • Provide docket reports and process intake files, as needed, keeping pace with workload.
  • Additional tasks and functions, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software, and the ability to effectively utilize various databases and applications like CPI, the Firm’s document management system, Outlook, Internet searching capabilities, among others.
  • Ability to effectively learn and properly utilize software systems and follow necessary processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep pace with the workload, while exhibiting a strong attention to detail.
  • Independently troubleshoot and professionally interact with others, as necessary, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, which includes offering to help and asking for help.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment, effectively prioritize tasks, and manage duties responsibly.
  • Ability to perform efficiently, maintain high quality and quantity of work, and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Consistently maintain good attendance, reliability, and ability to work overtime, if needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Some college, related education, or related training beyond a High School Diploma
  • At least two years of related experience
