Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Project Engineer for our Broderson product line to lead assigned engineering projects from concept through completion. In this role, you will drive project execution, coordinate cross-functional deliverables, manage budgets and timelines, and provide regular updates to engineering leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong project management discipline, technical engineering knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams while supporting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead assigned projects from conception through completion, ensuring key design deliverables are achieved. This role will initially focus on leading a key mid-size crane program (IC200, IC250, or IC280).
  • Build and manage project plans, including scope, timing, budget, and resource needs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, sales, and customers to define machine requirements and support successful project outcomes.
  • Monitor project performance against objectives and key performance indicators, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Guide cross-functional collaboration to ensure system compatibility and alignment with platform requirements.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and supporting business justifications tied to project activities.
  • Support functionality and performance improvements by helping define requirements and implementation plans.
  • Promote compliance with safety, quality, and company policies while fostering a collaborative team environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, with emphasis in mechanical, industrial, structural, automotive, electrical, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; experience with MS Project or similar project management tools preferred.
  • General knowledge of machine design, development practices, and machine operation. Experience in engine design is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience and PMP or CPAM-PMI certification.

Work Environment & Travel

  • This position may be based in Lenexa, KS, Hazel Crest, IL, or Union City, TN.
  • Minimal travel is required, up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Compensation/Benefits:
