Job description

Yosemite Pathology Medical Group (YPMG) is a private, independent, pathologist-owned surgical pathology and cytology practice committed to delivering exceptional diagnostic services throughout California. We are seeking a Board-Certified AP/CP Pathologist to join our collaborative team serving NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, California.

If you're looking for a practice that values clinical excellence, physician autonomy, and work-life balance, we'd love to connect with you.

Why NorthBay Medical Center?

NorthBay Medical Center is a respected community hospital serving Solano County and the surrounding region. As part of a collaborative pathology team, you'll work closely with surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary clinical teams while practicing in a modern hospital environment that values quality patient care and innovation.

This opportunity offers the chance to build meaningful relationships with clinicians, practice a diverse mix of surgical pathology, and become an integral part of a growing healthcare community.

Why Fairfield?

Fairfield offers one of Northern California's best-kept secrets. Ideally located between San Francisco and Sacramento and just minutes from Napa Valley, Fairfield provides the perfect balance of professional opportunity and exceptional quality of life.

Whether you enjoy world-class wineries, hiking, cycling, boating, or weekend trips to the coast or Lake Tahoe, Fairfield places you in the center of it all-without the congestion and high cost of many larger California cities. With excellent schools, family-friendly neighborhoods, and convenient access to major airports, it's an outstanding place to build both your career and your life.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Bring strong diagnostic skills across a broad spectrum of surgical and clinical pathology.
  • Demonstrate confidence in independent decision-making while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Appreciate the variety and complexity that comes with supporting multiple hospitals.

Your Role

  • Provide expert consultation and communicate the medical significance of laboratory findings to referring physicians.
  • Deliver accurate, timely evaluations and diagnoses across a diverse range of anatomic pathology specimens.
  • Actively engage in a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of pathology services while maintaining a collegial workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) required
  • Active California medical license (or eligibility to obtain one) required
  • Applicants with 2-4 years' experience in a practice setting are a plus.
  • Fellowship training in surgical pathology subspecialties (cytopathology, breast, GI, gynecologic, etc.) highly desirable
  • Strong diagnostic, communication, and collaboration skills essential

Why Yosemite Pathology?

  • Independent, pathologist-owned and operated group
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
  • Relocation assistance
  • CME allowance
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Malpractice coverage
  • Strong emphasis on work-life balance
  • Opportunities to grow within a respected, stable, and expanding organization
