Prep Cook / Line Cook (Hybrid)

Black Cow Cafe – Montrose, CA

Black Cow Cafe is seeking a dependable, hardworking Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This hybrid position is ideal for someone who enjoys both food preparation and working on the line during service. We're looking for a team player who takes pride in quality, cleanliness, and consistency.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards
  • Chop vegetables, portion proteins, prepare sauces, soups, and dressings
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO)
  • Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner service as needed
  • Work stations on the line during peak hours
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assist with daily and weekly cleaning tasks
Qualifications
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
