Position Datawarehouse Tester

Location: Richardson, TX[Local Required]

Phone + Face to face required

Desired Start Date: ASAP 12+ months

Position Description:

Responsible for data warehouse and enterprise report testing. Primary responsibilities include designing/ developing test strategy and plans, and executing test scripts. Specific data warehouse test experience is necessary utilizing manual and automated testing skills. Must be well versed in using Test Script Repository, Test Execution, Defect Reporting, Tracking and Resolution capabilities. Excellent skills in communicating test results and ability to work with other teams responsible for supporting test issue resolution. Participates in the requirements process with the user community on UAT (user acceptance testing) definition and develops detailed documentation to facilitate transition from ST to UAT.

Job Requirements:

Specific data warehouse testing experience is necessary. Understanding of database design and implementation. Must have excellent SQL and Data Analysis Skills. Clear and concise verbal, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to work in teams. Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements. Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with initiative and accountability. Knowledge of testing methodologies and the Software Development *Life Cycle including Agile development methodology. Experience with scheduling tool such as ASG Zena (not necessary) Zena, something similar. Experience in writing shell scripts in Unix environments. Experience in creating automated scripts to create test data. Relational Database Experience. Experience with the implementation of Dimensional Model(s). Strong Data Analysis skills and the ability to track a data element from source through transformation to target. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with, assist and support project team.


Good communication skills and ability to manage tasks with tight deadlines

Teradata and/or DB2 SQL (strong SQL skills required)

Familiarity with AIX, Windows and MS Office 

Familiarity with Dimensional Modeling and Data Mapping

Health Insurance knowledge helpful
