Stillman Law Office is a multi-state creditors' rights law firm headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan. As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a Connecticut-licensed Associate Attorney to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload, appear in court, provide legal analysis, and work collaboratively with experienced legal professionals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Additional bar admissions in other jurisdictions are highly valued and may provide opportunities for expanded responsibilities within the Firm.
Position Summary
The Associate Attorney will represent the Firm and its clients in matters related to creditors' rights and collections litigation. Responsibilities include court appearances, legal analysis, review and approval of pleadings, and providing legal guidance to support the Firm's operations and client needs.
Previous experience in creditors' rights, collections litigation, or civil litigation is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in virtual and in-person court appearances throughout Connecticut.
  • Review, approve, and sign pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal analysis and opinions regarding case strategy, procedural issues, and compliance matters.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws, court rules, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management and timely resolution of matters.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage deadlines and caseload priorities in a high-volume legal environment.

Qualifications
Required
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and good standing with the Connecticut State Bar.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
