Job description

Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) is dedicated to providing the Word of God to every person in their heart language. With Scripture recordings in thousands of languages and growing global partnerships, we are committed to seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.

The Director of Donor Development will lead and manage FCBH's donor engagement strategies with a focus on cultivating and stewarding major donors. This strategic leader will oversee the Major Donor team, coordinate fundraising initiatives, and work closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to secure key funding that advances the mission of FCBH. This position reports to and is located at our Albuquerque office, this is not a remote position.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Directly steward a portfolio of top-tier major donors, alongside managing and mentoring the major donor team, ensuring personal engagement with the ministry's most significant supporters.
  2. Provide strategic leadership for all donor engagement and fundraising activities within the department, setting measurable objectives, monitoring performance, and making course corrections to ensure achievement of goals. Develop and approve departmental donor engagement strategies in collaboration with team managers, ensuring alignment with the CDO's overarching development plan. Develop and manage the Donor Engagement department's annual budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet fundraising goals.
  3. Direct, oversee and collaborate with Marketing/Communications to coordinate creation of publications to support development needs, fundraising activities, and ensure consistent, meaningful touchpoints throughout the donor journey.
  4. Provide guidance and direction to the FCBH KL office in the areas of donor development and donor communications.
  5. Implement fundraising plans for individual giving, recurring gifts, events, and various opportunities to increase awareness of the ministry vision and mission, acquire new donors, further engagement and raise funds.
  6. Set strategy, direct and oversee coordination for fundraising events.
  7. Oversee campaign execution, including seasonal or initiative-based giving drives.
  8. Track and analyze key metrics and trends to optimize performance.
  9. Identify and approve AI and technology solutions to enhance donor engagement efficiency, delegating implementation to appropriate staff. Serve as a member of the organizational leadership team, representing Donor Engagement in cross-departmental strategic discussions and decision-making when delegated by the CDO. Collaborate with other department managers to integrate donor messaging and experiences across departments.
  10. Represent the Donor Development department in cross-functional initiatives as delegated by the CDO.
  11. Maintain donor confidentiality and ensure ethical fundraising practices.
  12. Provide regular performance updates and projections to the CDO.
  13. Use donor CRM software to manage donor records, activity, and reporting.
