About the opportunity
NSW Health Pathology is seeking a reliable and motivated Pathology Courier Driver to join the team at Orange Health Service in a permanent Part Time role. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of pathology specimens, reports, and supplies between healthcare facilities, ensuring strict adherence to handling, safety, and infection control protocols. You will play a critical role in supporting diagnostic services while working independently, maintaining accurate records, and demonstrating a strong commitment to confidentiality and quality.

What you'll be doing
Provide an efficient, consistent and reliable pathology sample transport service which also transports collection equipment, results and other items as required to and from NSWHP laboratories, collection centres, clinics and hospitals.

  1. A level of fitness appropriate to courier duties: walk long distances and lift, carry and move items of up to 10 kgs over an eight hour shift
  2. Ability to be flexible and participate in a 24 hour / 7 day roster
  3. Current unencumbered Class C NSW drivers license with exemplary driving record. Attach your driving record from Service NSW to this application. An uncertified record may be obtained online for a fee. 
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver efficient and effective services
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  6. Demonstrated excellent time management skills with the ability to maintain high quality work output while managing competing priorities
  7. Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and within a team and to promote teamwork as a basis for improvement.
