Job description

Principal Function: The Box Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering items for NOW Courier customers in a company provided vehicle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Picks up and delivers product in a timely fashion as schedule indicates.
  • Maintains reports and log books while performing duties.
  • Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner at all times.
  • Loads and unloads product for stock or delivery.
  • Interprets maps and driving directions to operate the most efficient route service.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies as prescribed by company procedures.
  • Reports any mechanical problems encountered with truck or equipment.
  • Verifies contents of product loads.
  • Reports delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to dispatch or manager.
  • Assists with warehouse operations, including sorting freight and dismantling shipping containers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty according to the requirements of NOW Courier. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and one year of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience operating a 26' commercial vehicle is required.
