POSITION: Math Teacher
LOCATION: Monroe High School
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dougherty County School System is seeking a High School Math teacher to join our roster of experienced, motivated, and effective teaching professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for high school students. This position offers the opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of mathematicians, problem solvers, and critical thinkers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:








  1. Bachelors' degree or higher;
  2. Valid Georgia Teacher certification or Charter Waiver Eligible;
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  1. Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  2. Ability to relate to and motivate all students in a positive manner with respect;
  3. Ability to effectively navigate and utilize a wide range of educational and career-related technology tools, software applications, and digital platforms while engaging students;
  4. Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance;
  2. Completes all records and reports on time and with accuracy;
  3. Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all students;
  4. Develop and implement instructional plans and materials aligned with state standards and curriculum frameworks;
  5. Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities;
  6. ?Deliver instruction using a variety of methods, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities;
  7. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students and accommodate varying levels of readiness and learning pace;
  8. Design and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts;
  9. Analyze assessment data to evaluate student progress and inform instructional decisions;
  10. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress;
  11. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine assessment tools and strategies;
  12. Implements effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere and address behavioral issues constructively;
  13. Collaborates with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and instructional strategies for enhancing  Math instruction;
  14. Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, research, and pedagogical approaches in math education;
  15. Supervises or assists in the supervision of school activities as assigned;
  16. Performs related duties as assigned as circumstances require;
  17. Maintains satisfactory performance on the system Evaluation Instrument;
  18. Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.


REPORTS TO:  Principal
SALARY RANGE:  Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide
