Job description

Veterinary Hospital Cleaner Wanted!

Are you someone who takes pride in keeping things clean, organized, and running smoothly? Do you enjoy working around animals and like knowing that the work you do makes a difference?

Countryside Veterinary Service is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our team as a Veterinary Hospital Cleaner. We have two busy veterinary facilities located in Myrtle Creek and Canyonville, Oregon. Keeping our hospitals clean, sanitized, stocked, and ready for our patients is an important part of the care we provide every day.

Our hospitals see everything from dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and the occasional unexpected patient. No two days are quite the same, and we are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy and takes pride in being an important part of the team behind the scenes.

What You’ll Do
  • Clean and sanitize exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery areas, kennels, floors, bathrooms, and other hospital spaces

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital

  • Restock supplies and make sure work areas are ready for the following day

  • Clean, package, and sterilize surgical instruments

  • Wash and fold hospital laundry

  • Clean kennels, dishes, and animal care areas

  • Assist with the basic care of boarding and hospitalized patients as needed

  • Complete end-of-day cleaning and closing duties

  • Work independently while also communicating with the veterinary team about anything that needs attention

Schedule & Pay

Part-time, approximately 4 days per week.

Monday through Thursday, generally 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with occasional later evenings.

Pay: $14.55 per hour

You will work at both our Myrtle Creek and Canyonville locations, so reliable transportation between locations is necessary.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, thorough, and able to work independently without needing constant supervision. We want someone who notices the little things, takes pride in a job well done, and understands that cleaning in a veterinary hospital is about much more than making things look nice.

Veterinary hospitals can also be messy! You should be comfortable cleaning up after animals and handling the less glamorous parts of keeping a medical facility clean. Proper sanitation plays an important role in protecting our patients and helping prevent the spread of infectious disease.

You should also be comfortable working around dogs, cats, and other animals of different sizes and temperaments.

Countryside Veterinary Service is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana. Applicants must be able to comply with our drug-free workplace requirements.

How to Apply

The first step in our hiring process is simple. Please email BOTH your resume and a personalized cover letter to:

pitty.weed.cvs@gmail.com

Subject line: Attn: Pitty, Office Manager | Hospital Cleaner Position

In your cover letter, please answer the following question:

If your mother had a critically ill pet, describe the care you would want her to receive at a local veterinary hospital. What would make her experience truly exceptional?

There is no perfect answer. We genuinely want to hear your thoughts. Tell us what great care looks like to you and what small things you think could make a difficult experience a little easier for a pet and the person who loves them.

Please follow the application instructions carefully. Both your resume and cover letter must be submitted by email in order to be considered.

Applications that are not submitted by email will not be considered for the position.

Please do not call the hospital or stop by to apply in person. Our team stays busy caring for patients throughout the day, so keeping applications to email allows us to give each applicant the attention they deserve.

If you are reliable, enjoy staying busy, love being around animals, and take pride in keeping things clean and organized, we would love to hear from you. We are excited to find the right person to join our team!
