Position: Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Practitioner - Full time position
Cogent Security LLC seeks a highly skilled Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Practitioner responsible for safeguarding sensitive information, personnel, and facilities against unauthorized technical surveillance threats. This role involves conducting comprehensive inspections, evaluations, and countermeasures to detect, isolate, and neutralize potential espionage or eavesdropping activities. The practitioner applies specialized knowledge of electronic surveillance, physical security, and threat analysis to ensure compliance with national security standards and organizational policies.
Detailed duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Conduct Inspections and Surveys: Perform TSCM inspections of facilities, systems, and devices to identify vulnerabilities and potential surveillance threats.
  • Operate Specialized Equipment: Utilize and maintain advanced TSCM equipment to detect, counter, and neutralize unauthorized surveillance activities.
  • Security Evaluations: Conduct evaluations of secure rooms, classified storage areas, and construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable national security standards.
  • Risk Mitigation: Provide detailed vulnerability assessments and recommend practical mitigations to reduce organizational risk exposure.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI clearance is required (Active/Current)
  • Graduate of an accredited federal or DoD TSCM training course (e.g., Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM certification)
  • Minimum 5 years of operational TSCM experience
  • Strong knowledge of electronic surveillance technologies and counterintelligence principles
  • Proven experience using specialized TSCM equipment and conducting technical inspections
  • Ability to analyze technical vulnerabilities and recommend effective mitigations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for high-level reporting and briefings
  • Ability to travel as required to conduct inspections

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
